Lovely

It'd be more interesting if you told us what the song is about, though. Oh well, I can do like the rest of the non-sang music: feel what is it about.
Now, you have to find a program that fixes your recording problems. the volume suddenly goes up for a few moments. But hey, being your first submission is not bad at all. It's defenitely a lot better than mine haha. The instrumentation is nice overall, I really couldn't tell if the violins were there as a background or if they were interacting with the main melody with another one. They're barely audible, but that's probably how they are meant to be played. Don't get me wrong, I loved how the came in. They complemented the song perfectly.
About the piano, I'm not sure if it's the software you're using but I think you are not using any pedals. It'd sound a lot better that way.
As I said in the other review, you have a great voice. But you might wanna improve that "Uho-o-uououo" at 3:48. I just got this thing against the whole "uohuouo" thing, sorry.
One more thing, the ending suddenly cutted. That cuts the listeners inspiration, so try not to do it again please. Oh well, at least it was not a fade out ;)

And now, if you excuse me I have work to do. I must study your way to compose melodies (You chinese people... I don't know how you do it). Maybe I'll find your secret and learn "The chinese way" lol :D

Anyway, great job on this! And welcome to the newgrounds audio portal.
It's exciting to upload your first work isn't it?

Oh, the eternal promise.

I loved Yue ding the first time I heard it. It's a really sad, yet pretty story.
I can't possibly imagine what would be of me if I couldn't enjoy music, it's even worse not being able to enjoy your most important person's music.
I have always said that oriental people manage to create the most wonderful melodies ever. The kind of melodies that is capable of moving your deepest feelings... I only hope I someday get to reach that level.
This is amazing. As Sorohanro said, it needs some improvements but you are an amazing singer. I hope to hear more from you soon.

By the way, I fav'd you! ;)
Keep that up man!

P.S. Could you traslate the lyrics for the rest of us? I'd really love to know what the lyrics say if they are, at least, half as beautiul as the melody.

...the hell?

Why is there only one review for such an amazing song? It's like a sin!
I must do something about it:

Hey >:(
This is nothing like the file you sent me, it's like 115612 times better.
I'm glad though, that change from the previous file at 0:54 was quite surprising. It really blew me away how it progressed. Sounds so mystical, so calm... so amazing to sum it up lol. I imagine a fountain and a shiny woman on it for some strange reason. And that's good! Songs that make me imagine stuff are the best of all. I think the middle part is my favorite, specially 1:19- 1:21.
Now that I think of it, the ending sounds better without the glissando.

You did a great job with this man! It's amazingly beautiful, I never thought this piece could be improved so greatly.

Keep that up! 5/5 & 10/10

MusicalRocky responds:

Well cause only one person felt the need to review it, I guess :D

Lol sorry. I rewrote the middle section like five billion times--that's why it's different in your file. I can send you the right one if you want :P
Mystical and calm indeed. Fountain and shiny woman eh? Nice lol. Well yeah the ones that make images come into your head are cool :]

I like that part too.
I don't remember having a gliss a the end lol. oh well.

I'm glad you liked this man! I did spend some time on it. Thanks for the awesome review!

Haha shitty Christmas

Being piano my favorite instrument, this piece has all my attention. I like the chord progression. At how at the begining you only used treble, and at 0:36 you use bass. That gives a powerful serious feeling to it, which is awesome in a sad song.

1:09 scared me :(, it was complete randomness. I don't know whats that, if the scenario suddenly changes to the king's hall? I dunno... sounds like a shortcut. And then back to the pianist reflecting his/her memories on the piano.
Luckly, 1:43 didn't appeared all of a sudden. It does sound christmas like. I imagine the pianist looking out the window in that exact moment and sees everyone skating around a huge christmas tree, real happy. And then back to his piano and his memories. At 1:54 he stops playing due he realizes something, something he didn't noticed before... and shocked he plays the last -and kind of disturbing- notes. I say disturbing because those cello parts sounds like, as he plays the last notes, the cello represents bad/disturbing memories that comes to its mind like a lightning. I'm not saying I don't like the ending, I think it's great.

I never looked into your songs before, better take a look at the rest of 'em.
Keep up the good work! 9/10 because you scared me >:(
But 5/5 ;)

SolusLunes responds:

Yeah, in retrospect, I don't really like the whole 1:09 bit, it was cool at the time. I felt I needed to break up the song a little bit, but... the story that you've built, that's awesome.

I wish someone would make it a flash like that :D

Lovely!

This piano piece truly melts even the coldest heart among humans. Defenitely a piece I'd like to hear over and over again.
Very interesting chord progression, at first I was afraid of the posiblility of no high notes on this song, until 1:05 came in. That was so beautiful.. you have a very nice melody here. It's nice that, being a complex melody is not messed up. I say it's complex since it is not repetitive at all AND has a consistent melody. Easy to catch.
I'm not completely happy that this is a loop, a song as awesome as this should have a proper ending. But doesn't ruin the song either.

Overall, nice song. It inspires me to compose a piano piece... didn't had this inspiration in a while..

Awesome job! Keep up the good fight!

Sounds like sailors dying from herpes...

...while being attacked by a storm of course :D
:D
Sounds great man! A very powerful begining (I laughed at the previous comment about choking to death) that really gets you in the mood.
Loved the interaction between brass and woodwinds at some part. They compliment eachother perfectly, the versatility of the woodwinds plus the power feeling of the brass= win.
I like the melody, accompanied with that cello made the song sound sea like. Good job on achieving what you're aiming for.
The ending sounds like they somehow managed to reach land, and they're being welcomed by their loved ones, and their dogs why not. I like dogs :D

Anyway, you did a nice job using Edirol here :D. I see you got the hang of it.
Keep that up man!

Fuoco

MusicalRocky responds:

Hey

Hahah herpes. Yeah, they are having a rough time, either way. Lol yeah, choking to death : P Though I hope my music never does that to anyone : (

I always try to bring out versatility in the winds and brass, 'cause they're overlooked in "battlesque/epic" pieces. They have all sides to them, and indeed work very well together, playing off each other.

The melody definitely does help the image I was going for, thanks for noticing that : D Dunno exactly what you meant by the cello part; mostly the cellists are playing quarter note beats, keeping harmony and rhythm, though they have the melody sometimes.

You're close about the ending; it's more like (in my mind) the storm is clearing, and they all come out of hiding and stand on the deck, admiring a beautiful sunrise : D

Anyhow, yeah, Edirol's great once you get used to it (though you know). There's still so much I can do with it.

Thanks for the review!

How perfectly marvelous!

I listened to this song in the rain, and extra-enjoyed this song. There's no boring chords here like many fast-paced piano pieces. This one actually has a melody, a soul. There's a lot of emotion for a presto song, and that's wonderful.
Not much of an intro, but that's ok. My favorite part: The waltzy rythm. Certainly an impressive waltz that reminds me a bit to chopin's waltz in b minor (b?). This song also has a bit of cirquesque... wierd, but an evil clown (lol) comes to my head in a few parts of this song.
I'm so glad to hear you're mexican. I am too, and now I confirm that there's no need to be asian to compose wonderful music.

Also, I'm a bit curious. Can you tackle this piece? I'd understand if you didn't, sounds like a bitch to play :D

Anyway, your a new favorite. 5/5
Keep that up, I'll be checking your other submissions.

Fuoco

RemiLegend responds:

haha i know man, every time i hear a pretty sool song i find out that the author is asian haha...
actually i composed the waltzy part first, but since i didn't know what else to put i just made up that sloppy intro haha...of course i can tackle it! thats me playing live..i dont know how to use any applications to compose =S

thanks for the review! =)

>:)

This song is real badass. I like how the intro sets the right mood. That sharp sound that begins at 0:46 is pretty neat, I can picture so many things in my head as I listen to this, like Jet-li kicking some ass but.. no, sounds greater than that. I showed this to some friends and they wanted me to tell you something... but I forgot! :O
Anyway, they loved it too. The soft part at 1:16 was really mellow. That'd be a reason of why I like this so much, is not only madness, it is also... you know, like... yeah. If I had to define this song with a colour, that would be prurple. When I listen to music, a color comes to my head. This sounds purple, and maybe a bit blue (lol I'm wierd).
Also, I'm curious. What's cramoisi? I googled it but it's in french :(, something like a pigment (A color after all? lol)

Anyway, I bet my ass you'll win this MAC, I've heard other entries and they are not even half as good as yours.

Once again, amazing work.
Never stop inspiring us.

Fuoco

Winterwind-NS responds:

haha Jet li
yeah i could see him kicking multiple ppls faces in a single jump to this
tell ur friends i said thanks!
the soft parts were something i made sure i had cuz it just seems kinda annoying and unbearable if an entire song is just loud intense smashing. it fit well in this song i feel.
purple? well cramoisi means crimson lol
anyways, thanks for your support and your high hopes of me
thanks thanks1!

Romantic

It gave me the romantic feeling at many parts. Also, a bit sad at 0:50-1:00. I think that'd be my favorite part. Also, the way it is now, sounds like something that could be played in a church, by an organ. That's my complaint because a lot of church music goes a bit random, and this sounds a bit random in some parts. But I think it sounds like that because its a solo, and its a bit hard to follow the melody with no other instruments leading the path. It's ok the way it is, but this is like the 6th time I'm listening to this and I just can hear other instruments being played and making it sound, not just ok, but awesome!
If you ever feel like working more on this with more istruments I'd be more than just happy to hear, because I really like this melody.
Also, you're freaking good with the violin :D
Also, some freaking bastard bited my dog >:(
Keep that up man! :D

Fuoco

MusicalRocky responds:

Hey!

Romantic wasn't something that I was particularly going for, but it happened all the same lol. (Solo violins can do that.) 0:50-1:00 is a good part indeed, because it goes pseudo-minor on you, with F and C naturals. Church organ eh? That's a cool idea. But yeah it does sound a bit random because often times there is no articulation on the first beat so it sounds kinda weird without a constant rhythm. I want to put a piano with it, but it's harder than I thought. Plus my concerto is taking precedence at the moment :P

But I'll do it eventually!

Thanks for reviewing man, I'm glad you liked it anyway.
