["Emperor's Daughter" - Reason3]

My man, you have no idea the problems I went through to find this piece after all this time. I was like: "What was it called? The queen's something?".

It's such a beautiful work that it keeps playing in my head after this many years, and I can't believe that after I found this I realized I never left a review back then, even after I added this to my once mp3 player. I'm just here to tell you that I'm in love with the music you've composed here. If coming back to it after 15 years doesn't say it all, I don't know what does.

I don't know if you'll read this, but if you do I hope you are good and having a wonderful life.

Very nice, I really like your style. Its a good harmony provided by piano, might wanna add variations here and there, but it's overall beautiful.

This is so weird... I love it.

It makes me laugh for some reason, but not in a bad way. I find this very impressive, only vocals and it's well arranged. Excellent control of your beautiful voice, it can't be easy to sing those almost imperceptible grace notes on the main melody.

So... yeah.
I don't usually review arrangements, but this one in particular sounds too unique. And funny.

[L'angoisse Romantique III.]

Beautiful!

Amazingly beautiful. Got me in the mood the very moment it started, I've listened to this 7 times already and I can't get tired of it. I still don't know how you do it, to create such beautiful melodies, but I love it.
You know, sometimes I don't feel like composing anymore, but you always bring me new inspiration. I come here and listen to something like this and I think: "Fuck, I'd like to compose something as grand as this is" and so I continue. Makes me realize how much I still have to learn.

Now I'm inspired once again. Thank you.

Short review, and really not much about the song itself, but I don't know how could I criticize something I'm learning from. All I can say is good job and keep that up.

Beautiful

Amazingly beautiful. Your voice is way better than I remember, or is it the quality? Doesn't matter, it's beautiful no matter what.
I love the melody, it defenitely resembles to the renaissance. I dare to say, this is professional quality work. It must have been hard to clone yourself 4 times only to make this song possible, but it was defenitely worth it.
Beautiful ending too, songs nowadays doesn't have good endings (mine's either). They either are like any other or a fade out (God, I hate when they fade out). This song just inspired me, thank you.

I really couldn't think of anything to improve this piece, I love it the way it is.
You really impressed me, keep that up.

Yeah, Scarborough Fair has one of my favorite melodies. It's so simple, but at the same time it's so original... It's like the beautiful overlooked melody. I tried to make it as good as it possibly could be. Cloning myself was NOT... NOT NOT NOT easy. You're certainly right about that. But thanks! I wanted to give it a big dramatic ending, and that one seemed to be the only proper way to do it. ^_^ Thanks for listening, dearie!

We're in a similar situation. I believe you already know my situation if you read the description for my song.
You have no idea of how lucky you are, she's only away for a month! I know that when you are not used to not see her almost everyday, two weeks means forever. But for me that is nothing, I have not seen her for two years and I know I won't see her for another two or three more years. I think it'd be easier if she didn't loved me back.
But you my friend, I'm sure she does think of you. Just give her a huge compliment, and she won't let you go.

Now, I'm pretty sure you have won the MAC. I've listened to every submission and no song beats this one. And you used woodwinds! :D
Speaking of which, I loved instrumentation. I really can't be specific about what I like on every segment because I love everythig in this song. Pleasing to the ear, romantic, sad, passionate... defenitely a keeper.

Yeah I recall your story from the other time. That's also some roughsauce.
Lemme explain my situation a little more specifically. I've known this girl since I was in the fifth grade (about) and her family is really close to mine, so I have this natural feeling that we should be together. We rarely see each other. I have literally no idea what she thinks of me. Just this past week, i went on a vacation to the same city as her, except she went with a different group of friends. I saw her atleast once everyday that week. After a week like that, it's kinda hard to endure a month. Anyways, enough of that haha

[The Regret]

Better than the rest

This is defenitely one of my favorite songs in this contest. I don't understand why many people tend to like cliché music: "Oh! A sad contest, let's make a slow piece for piano and high pitched strings with little to no variation at all". That's why I prefer this song among others.
The begining is intriguing. That cello or bass creates fantastic ambience, as well as the upcoming choir and woodwinds. Harmony is a very strong point in this song, because you are using diferent elements and some people here believe that using complex notes will kill a sad song. Thank you for proving them wrong.

I have nothing to change or to add. I like it the way it is, and it goes to my favorites. Reminds me a bit of caslevania.

Good job! I hope you do well in the contest, because I hear a great compositional value here.

It's exactly what I wanted to do, I wanted to have complexity inside simplicity; As you can hear, most of the parts don't have that many instruments playing (except the climax). I also tried to take good care with the dynamics, since what playing 11 years of piano has taught me the most, is that the way you play your song is more than important.

Thank you again for your review. Even if I don't do so well in the contest, I will be glad to have composed this track, for it was one of my first sad tracks ever made. Was a fresh and somehow a bit eerie feeling too :P

I like wolves!

My review will be in english this time, for unknown reasons.

I believe your strongest point is harmony. The left hand fits wonderfully with the melody, as if it weren't there. You know, as if it were one with the right hand. I think that's an achievement for every pianist, the art of composition demands a beautiful and well balanced distribution of chords forming the harmonic texture. And that doesn't seem to be a problem for you. Good job on that!

I get the feeling you are trying to convey. Happy, yet cold. Maybe it's just me but I get a cold feeling listening to this, like watching snow flakes. Even though, I have never seen the snow in real life. That's why I do believe it fits the wolves theme.

I'll keep this song, defenitely. It's perfect to just lay down, close my eyes and listen to it the whole thing.

You really know your stuff, keep that up!

This song is lovely! Amazingly beautiful!
I know I already told you that, but I just HAD to review this.

Believe me that, with the piano introduction I thought the rest of the song was going to be pure piano. So it caught me off guard, that oboe playing such melody made me look towards my speakers. I was a pleasant surprise!
Especially since the oboe is one of my favorite instruments, woodwinds in general.

I recalled a love moment, listening to this.. it is a hard thing to do for a song to remind me of these moments. Your skills at composing a beautiful melody have improved greatly. Good job on that!
I like the passionate touch at 4:24, going from mp to mf or f. What is love without passion anyway?

Thank you for composing this, Rocky. This is certainly a keeper, so I can listen to it in my many moments of nostalgia.

Yeah, the piano intro does fool you a bit, doesn't it? It's pretty important, I really needed the piano to have the melody before we even hear the oboe, because the piano sets the mood, essentially, where the oboe comes and adds not only pity but beauty to the tragedy.

A good love moment, hopefully? :] Melodies are very important to me, especially with this type of piece, so I'm glad I could succeed there.
Quite passionate there, the entire song is kind of building toward that moment of passion--definitely, love without passion is inhuman.

You're welcome! This is why I compose: so people can enjoy my efforts, and when someone is touched emotionally by a piece, there is, I believe, a connection between the composer and the listener that few can understand.

[Largo for Full Orchestra]

Holy Moly!

I didn't see that coming, this style... is so original. It's like in a dream. Using celesta and glockenspiel like that is truly... truly... goddamnit, after reading rocky's review I'm out of words (damn you rocky, lol). But I was going to say it sounds very dark, yet so dreamy. I find it very hard to achieve such thing, and yet I'm listening to it, like five times already :D

Boy, that flute. Is so peaceful and blends very well with the glockenspiel/celesta, As well as the upcoming strings and oboe. Oh, what the hell, I like every single part of this song. As a personal favorite, I like 2:51-3:03. It's a very beautiful melody and a perfect break.

This is seriously one of your best works. This is a new favorite!
